Thank You Sir (For Takin' Her Away From Me)
Release date: Dec 10th, 2020 on digital streaming platforms

Slim Hanson recounts his inspirations for writing this song. “Louis Armstrong’s ex-wife came to one of Louis’ gigs with another man and sat at a table directly in front of the bandstand. During one of the set breaks, Louis approached the table and gave the man a firm handshake exclaiming “Thank you sir for taking her away from me!”

I Can Hear You Cryin'
Release date: Dec 1st, 2020 on digital streaming platforms

I Can Hear You Cryin’ writer Beau Bledsoe recounts, “In my early twenties I was touring around in central Mexico and found myself in a dilapidated motel in the town of Manuel Doblado. Laying atop the bed in my cowboy boots I could hear all the action and drama through the paper-thin walls. I then realized I was in a whorehouse. This song imagines the stories behind the voices I heard through those walls.”

Formally known as the Greenwood Baptist Church, this historic building has been in the process of renovation since early 2016. From 1927 until 2014, it was the home of a small African American congregation who began gathering in the post-Civil War 1890s in Kansas City's west side.
